Since we are not having Sophie's birthday party until tomorrow, we decided to give her a day out with mom and dad yesterday on her birthday. To start she created a birthday crown to wear at her party on Saturday. She was very proud of the result.
She even wrote her name in the center of it.
Then it was off to the local Baskin-Robbins, for the annual free kid's birthday cone. You can sign up your children online and the coupon is emailed to you about a week before the birthday.
Having dad there was a big deal to Sophie and it showed in her delighted expression.
Then it was off to the Children's Museum, because she adores it and its another freebie because we live within a mile of the museum. Sophie had a lot of fun and checked out more than just the toys and kiddie stuff this time. We explored the Appalachian cabins and she had fun playing many instruments including an African xylophone-type instrument.
All in all, it was a great day and Sophie was very happy.
