Jonathan's Art on Exhibit

My oldest son, Jonathan has a piece of his art on display at the Children's Museum's exhibit, "Through the Eyes of Children". Which is a collection of works from the children in the school system here. I am so proud of him! We went to see it on Sunday and there are some amazingly talented kids in our town.

Happy Birthday Jonathan!!

Fifteen years ago today, I gave birth to
my first son. His was a home birth and
the midwife arrived fifteen minutes
after Jonathan did. :)

It was a most empowering birth for me. That is when, after two children already, I learned the power and wisdom of my body. Fifteen years later, I am still flowing on the empowerment of that birth.
Jonathan has become a fine young man, nearly ready to begin his life as a man. I am so very proud of him and I am enjoying, very much watching who he becomes.

I love you Jonathan, Happy Birthday!

Here he is at age 8. So cute!

Jonathan's Art Showcase

My oldest son, Jonathan, participated in his first art showcase at school. We were so very proud of him and his artwork. He even did a bit of performance art, drawing on an easel for the students and parents that came to see the show. This is a boy, who up until two weeks ago, was on medication for ADD. He was able to draw his picture, talk with the others there, and keep focused on his work with many people talking and milling about, music and media playing, and being asked questions about his work. We are s proud of him. In the photos, his art is the blue cobra bowl, the dark blue "altered book", and the "found object sculpture" behind glass.

Some of the other student's artwork is in the remaining photos. What a grop of talented kids there are!

Love the Bob Marley plate!!
