We've had our first sunny day in weeks. It is 65 degrees.Sophie and I spent a lovely hour and a half outside communing with Mother Earth. We put some offerings on the outdoor altar for the Goddess and Her children, the deer, raccoons, squirrels and birds. (That's my Goddess loving child, Sophie beside the altar in the picture.)It was lovely to get out, I have had cabin fever for awhile now, due to the fact that my van is out of commission still. We checked out the herb gardens, it was so nice to smell the lavender, which by the way, is doing wonderfully in this weird, for us, weather. And there is even some mints, catnip and bee balm left, though it is browning from the frosts we've had. Of course, even though we have only just begun our winter, being out in the herb garden makes me long for spring. Oh and there is so much that I want to do in the gardens this Spring. Mainly extending them quite a bit and adding a lot more plants. I want to build a couple of raised beds for a few veggies. I want to get more shrubs for around the fence, to add privacy as they grow. I want a lot of cutting flowers this year, such as, zinnia and cosmos. I want to plant some bulbs, soon, tulips and crocus and daffodil. I put several dozen grape Hyacinth bulbs in last year, I am anxious to see them boom this year. I am craving some mugwort plants and an Elder tree for the yard. Those are the most important to me right now. I would also like to get a porch swing and a tree swing for Sophie. Oh so many plans, all brought to the front by a sunny January day.
