Well, Sophie has been in kindergarten for less than a month and she has already been swept into the latest and her first, craze. Silly Bandz! Good grief, who would have thought that simple 'rubber' bands could cause such a stir in children. And not just he girls. Sophie says that of the five children in her class that have and trade Silly Bandz, only she and another are girls. Who would have thought?
These things come in all shapes and themes and range in price from $1 for simple plain ones, to $5 for a pack of Sponge Bob Square Pants ones.
Sophie says that they are just bracelets until recess and then they can play with and trade them. What fun they seem to have. Every kid I have seen loves them.

When my oldest daughter Laura began school in 97, it was all the rage to have those tiny board games on key chains to hang on your backpack. That was Laura's first dive into fades. Things don't change all that much. There will always be some fade to grab a child's interst and always be something that everone wants to trade for. :)

Those are so much better than what my classmates and I traded when I was that age! We had these ugly trading cards called "Garbage Patch Kids"...a spoof on the Cabbage Patch Kids. ;)
LOL, I remember those!! Oh were they gross!!!
