Vegan Issues

Well, I have been eating a vegan diet for 48 days now. With only the occasional "cheat" as my friend pointed out last night. (That being having a taste of some non vegan treats) I have noticed of late that I am having some unexplained irritability. In trying to come up with a reason for it, besides slacking on my yoga routine, I looked to my diet. In the early weeks of eating vegan, I used a lot of tofu, I mean A LOT, in recipes. Lately, I have been relying more on vegetables for my meals, and not eating as much food in general. I am thinking that maybe I am not getting enough protein. This has caused me problems in the past. Believe it or not, a vegetarian can need more protein than one gets eating mostly vegetables. I had the same problem years ago when I was working with weights at the gym. Needed to up my protein intake. So...to test that theory, I am going to have several meals over the weekend that incorporate tofu, tempeh, and seitan, and see if that changes my moods any. I will let you know how that works out.
