I finally got back to my yoga routine this morning, after being out of it for the past two weeks with a sinus infection. Those downward dogs just don't work with congested sinuses. It felt great to be back on the mat. It is a beautiful rainy day here today. We even had a spring thunderstorm this morning. I am so looking forward to taking my yoga routine outside. Needless to say my gardens are loving the rain, soaking up the sweet water and sending forth their new life. I am so stoked about gardening this year, especially after learning about the Urban Homestead, see yesterday's post. I can't wait to get started with gusto on transforming my yard into something like they have. Of course, I don't have a year round growing season like they do in Southern California, but I will do what I can, where I am. I think it will be great! Oh so many plans. More to come.....Thursday, April 3, 2008

I am so stoked about the urban homesteading too!! Another book you should check out if you haven't heard of it is the Four Season Harvest by Elliot Coleman. You can extend your harvest through the winter just covering your beds with a simple frame covered with plastic. My understanding is that it is pretty inexpensive and low tech to implement and the author lives in Maine and is able to grow tons of winter produce. We hope to give it a whirl this year.
Oh this is all so exciting! I can't wait to have a little place of our own so we can start too!
You're sounding better, so glad you're back on the mat, doing what you love! Xxx
Thanks so much for the link on urban homesteading yesterday, it really helped my day. Glad you're feeling better.
