I can't seem to think of much else besides ways to try to live more ecologically and "green". It consumes my thoughts for most of my days. I notice things all around the house that we could be doing differently or better to live more in harmony with the earth. I surf the web for hours at a time looking for more ideas that I can incorporate into our lives. There are a lot that we cannot financially, afford to do at this time, like drive a hybrid and pay extra for "green" power. But there are many small things that we can and do, do that benefit not only our family but the Mother Earth as well. Including but not limited to; buying secondhand for most everything, using cloth bags (David just took ours with him to the store, I was so thrilled, he's really jumped on board now), composting, growing veggies (beginning this year), cooking more from scratch, (I'm still working on this one), filtering our drinking water(hope to add one to the sink soon), organic gardening, using our local farmer's market, using the library(and used book store when I simply MUST own it), washing laundry on cold, recycling; paper, glass, aluminum, steel & plastic, thrift store shopping, yoga, hiking, canoeing, natural cleaning (for most everything, still working on it), make handmade gifts for much of our gift giving. Some things that I want to get started doing are: walking or biking, when we can, canning and preserving food, become debt free (ha!), make candles, make soap, more herbal medicines, natural bath and beauty products (cost prohibitive, for us), practice permaculture, simplify everywhere, solar water heating (David's baby), and finally, the clothing that I want to sew, to sell, made of recycled vintage clothing. I know there are more but his is what I come up with just now. I know it seems like a lot of things, but most of it is very simple and easy to apply to your life without really changing much in the way of how we do it. Well, that's my venting for the day. Let's go "green"!
