A new sign I picked up at Big Lots.

My new compost bin! Lovingly made by my adoring husband for Mother's Day. All out of recycled materials, these are things he found in trash or recycle. PVC pipes and old vinyl roofing material. So cool! This one is for garden and yard stuff and bigger things like limbs and stalks. The black one will be for kitchen waste.

This is the left side of our shed. It sits close to the fence, but when I was cleaning it out last week I realized that it had potential as a secret garden. Of course it will be a shade garden as it is shaded by a gorgeous hickory tree. The poles stretched across the top were David's idea, to train the honeysuckle and wild rose that already grow over the fence. I plan to have some seating and an altar and garden ornaments, etc. back there. Also an arched entry way with ivy trained across it. Luckily the ivy is already well established in this area. I am really excited about the plans. More on this as it progresses.
David put Sophie a tire swing up where the old board swing was in the sycamore tree. It has a very long range and will spin in circles, needless to say it has been a huge hit with her and all her little friends in the neighborhood. We have many more plans for the gardens this year and I hope to be able to post more often now that our internet connection is more reliable. More soon. Blessings.
