Festval Fun

Saturday was the local Lavender Festival. This festival has been going on for ten years now. It is a showcase of area merchants and herb growers and natural products. Each year focuses on the "Herb of the Year", which for this year was Bay Laurel.

My lovely daughters, Laura and Emily went along with me. We ran into a friend there who snapped this photograph of us. It is rare when we get together like this so this one is special to me.

Being the solstice weekend, I was aware of a number of sun symbols. I am not sure if it was intentional on the part of the merchants or just coincidence, as they were all at different stands. Either way, it was lovely. And the symbolism was not lost on this pagan. :)

Another sun symbol, this one a wind chime, next to a wind chime made of an old children's xylophone. I love it!

Beautiful blue glass flower bottles. The light was hitting them, just so.

Yet another sun symbol~this one made of leaf shaped colored glass. Lovely.

Faeries, faeries everywhere! Well, it is the summer solstice after all. A beautiful display.

Stained glass dragon tail! Awesome!

Stained glass stars and wind chimes of stained glass, just as we walked past the wind gently blew through these beauties and was a breezy advertisement for them.

Hand crocheted shawls on display. These were gorgeous! All colors and floaty loveliness. (I don't know whose hand that is.LOL)

Glass plates and such recycled into "garden flowers". How ingenious.
