
Why is it that when we are under the most stress all the things that would make it easier to deal with are the first ones that we let go by the wayside? I have found that when the emotional and financial stress that my family has recently been going through began, the first thing to fall aside was my yoga routine. Then the healthy eating that I try to maintain, began to be replaced by a quick bite here and there, that is when I even had an appetite to eat at all. Spending time with friends and family, I tend to isolate and hibernate when I am under stress, the worst thing to do. Remembering to take care of ourselves amidst turmoil and stress is very important. Finding it out the hard way, I am being much more careful with myself. Here are some of the things that I am currently doing or about to begin to help take care of myself, so that I can take care of my family and my life.
~Eating healthy, whole foods. Lots of fruits and veggies.
~Drink lots of water.
~Take vitamin and herbal supplements.
~Yoga and breathing exercises.
~Mindfulness
~Laughter, reading.
~Spending time with my friends and my children.
~Use of essential oils and herbs to reduce stress and relax.
~Some form of heart pumping exercise, I like walking.
~Therapy, I am a firm believer in talking it out with an objective party, paid or otherwise.
I will let you know how this plan works for me, having only just implemented it. But I am hopeful and feel confident that I have the tools to cope with whatever life gives me. Thank the Goddess!

It is so true. Those vital things we need are always the ones we neglect first. It can take a lot of strength and determination to get back on track but if you stick at your plan it shouldn't take long. Your plan reads much like mine would and I've managed to pull myself out of a few black holes in years gone by!

It's so easy to let the good things slip. I think when you're stressed you are so much more tired & things just go by the wayside.
