Beautiful Compost!

Isn't it beautiful?! We spent an hour this afternoon, shoveling it into the back of our van. It is very aged rabbit manure mixed with a little horse manure. And now it is "gold" to me at least, the beginnings of my organic vegetable gardens. I am so stoked, who would have guessed a huge pile of shit could make me so happy? LOL It is really no longer manure, but lovely rich, decadent earth to feed my plants. This is a picture of my raised beds, two of them, 4' x 6'. The grass is covered with a thick layer of newspapers to smother it, and the compost will go on top, tomorrow, if it stops raining.

We were given this compost by a very lovely lady in the country. The kids even got to ride one of her horses. They really enjoyed it.
